Earth element ... the greatest paradox on ... Earth
Yes earth element is both the most-suffering / lowest element (on the ego path), yet the least-suffering / highest element (on the Spirit Path).
On the ego path, it is the densest element of survival, greed, fear, preservation, not only of the species, but even of the individual regardless of the species, a great cause for slavery, poverty, hunger, and war.
However, in the Spirit Path, it is the lightest practice of still (otherwise slow) sense-awareness: austerity, simplicity, minimalism, and pure, & ultimate detachment. Although fire element is the most effective, earth element is the least painful; it is the most effective yet still remains pleasant & peaceful. Ironically, it is the (2nd) hardest to practice.
In the right direction, this is the key element that not only preserves peace, but also preserves nature therefore sustainability.
Its paradox is amplified in its dual gender alike air element, only completely opposite to it. That is, it is a masculine element (opposite to air & water yet alike fire), yet a feminine falling manifest representation (opposite to air & fire but alike water).
Finally, it is also no wonder to be the present idol err direction of worship in Islam.

ReplyDeleteEarth...Dense, pulls down ( literally so) but has a key to liberation. To the great designer .🙏
Life in developing countries where comforts are minimal ,can really help jivas NOT get used to new pleasures ( and therefore avoid creating new karmas)but as usual balance is the key ,I feel.
Too much misery, one can't care for anything, let alone higher things.

I know someone from South Africa that left Dubai soon after I prescribed Raja Yoga for him haha. Anyway even the rich don't seem to give a damn, but yes some wealth for Jnana Yoga helps in balancing austerity with the ability to obtain knowledge for more intellectual pursuits
DeleteTrue. Balance is the key. It helps to have reasonable amount of options/ resources while learning the art of balance.
ReplyDeleteIf people are in survival mode all the time, they can develop deep desires to live lifetimes of plenty ,therefore causing more lifetimes for themselves...
Contentment and gratitude can speed up jivas towards home imo.
haha like for most people, the only reason they are interested in spiritualy is law of attracton if you know what i mean ;P
