5 reasons why spirituality should not be confused with a business endeavor

Reason #1) Spirituality is intended to relieve suffering of (especially artificial) materialism, and those who teach it are supposed to know that life (desire of the ego self especially through survival and pleasure instincts) is suffering. Therefore, he who teaches it is more interested in alleviating suffering than causing it (especially by giving especially selling endless and/or useless postures / techniques / knowledge / gadgets / badges / venues), especially for him or her self.
Reason #2) True Teachers (right hand path) / True Trainers (left hand path) are mostly interested in Liberation, therefore are more willing to Sacrifice (give without necessarily taking) because that is the fastest and surest path to it.
Reason #3) The people who are in need of it most are probably poor because they are constantly faced with actual (yes not imaginary nor feared) survival related pains, aside from the less obvious pains of not being able to afford all the pleasures that the ego self naturally has till learning the hard way before finally deciding to take up the path back Home. However, those who are rich are usually constantly faced with pleasure related pain, and they usually are too busy indulging in it (or its numerous cures err treatments) to get into spiritual practice.
Reason #4) Politics. Spirituality is not supposed to create schisms between people especially within (seemingly) different religions or their strains. The more about wealth it becomes, the more politics there will be, not only due to the motive, but the effects of indulgence in materialism by shrouding the mind.
Reason #5) lower (or equal, or higher) entities (demons) blessed with higher (or equal) powers can take it as an opportunity to ascend by (physically / especially psychologically) attacking he who turns spirituality into materialism.
However, spirituality is the hardest thing in life because what you are doing is acting contrary to your natural design especially when it comes to the most effective renunciation (boredom) or endurance (pain). Therefore, it needs some (intentional / effortful) work especially at first, till it no longer is intended (an effortless / habitual skill) and within life itself, although it is recommended to intentionally keep it up anyway, if not for expedited Liberation then for health otherwise to be able to teach it. So, since it takes a lot of work, Teachers and Trainers alike have gone a great length not only to be able to understand it, but to achieve actual results, and even to be able to teach it (since it is again, difficult to grasp).
In fact, Teacher (priest-based) & Trainer (warrior-based) dharma are elementally the highest, so should be the most appreciated therefore rewarded. Ironically, they tend to be the least rewarded when one goes out of their way to share it authentically and/or at no charge. That is completely adharmic (unrighteous / immoral / wrong) and downright stupid, because Teachers and Trainers should be rewarded not only the same as other roles, but more so.
The problem is that people nowadays have become exploitative (adharmic) and disinterested (distracted) from Enlightenment. In fact, many go as far as harming (by ridiculing or even by persecuting) it and its Messengers. Also, many may justify not reciprocating for having long working hours, not enough pay (for their limitless desires), not liking their job, or finding it difficult to get work in the first place, etc. etc. Well... there is no need to dig a deeper hole by being greedy, and there is no need to justify injustice with yet more injustice. Afterall, sacrifice / kindness (including giving back, but especially without expecting a return, even though it is dharma / duty to give back) is the surest & fastest path to enlightenment.
However yes, there are many fake Teachers / Trainers out there that do not have enough (deep) knowledge and/or seek to feed their (especially instinct-lead) attachments and tendencies, so one must be careful not to take them as Guides (therefore "reciprocate"). However, no one is perfect (in character nor habits / tendencies), and if one finds a true guide that is truly knowledgeable and actually on the Path, then they have the responsibility to reciprocate, if not financially / (fair & useful) matter-wise then (fair & useful) service-wise, and if not then (fair & useful) knowledge-wise.
Afterall, all living beings naturally have survival and pleasure instincts to satisfy every now and then, so it is nice to be considerate enough to at least make Teachers & Trainers feel safe, if not avoid taking advantage of them (and of yourself) by putting all your resources into satisfying your own instincts. Also, everything costs money these days, not only due to government requirements (such as having to have shelter), but people have become increasingly material, including for their spiritual aspirations.
However, especially for those who are aspirants (on the Path), they will often put it to good use, with acts such as building a house of worship (virtual or real or both), donate to the (deserving: not lazy nor wasteful) poor, or to aid in his/her own spiritual advancement (e.g. organic food, purer space, better knowledge or Teacher or method etc.).
More information can be obtained at how all religions (including Satanism) are same, and why they end up with violence & suffering anyway and The Left Hand Path & the destruction of the destruction of spirituality (including Ninjutsu).

A guide is someone who has already walked the path, and therefore can direct others to the path and the ultimate goal ( if he/she is really a sadhguru ).
ReplyDeleteI feel anyone who can direct an aspirant even half- way across the right path (one that suits their nature) is good. Atleast they don't mislead.
If one can't find a "point to point" bus, one can take a bus,a train, a cart and walk the remaining way too, as long as one doesn't lose the way ( or plot).
The puranas say that during Kali yuga, fake Gurus would delude people. Have heard -that's to intentionally filter out people who have karmas to work out...
